The Jan. 12th HEB Club meeting boasted a packed house with a special visit from District Governor John Miller and Ambassadorial Scholar Vanessa Bilanceri. John was present to award our club with a banner marking 100% participation in the "Every Rotarian, Every Year" pledge to donate $100 per Rotarian to the Foundation.

Vanessa has recently returned from ASETS, the orientation and training for her year abroad in Mexico City beginning in August 2010. Also attending the meeting were her parents, Connie and Maurizio Bilanceri of Hurst, her brother, Richard Bilanceri of Playa del Carmen, MX and her husband, Jeremy Goldberg (originally from Cleveland, OH).
Vanessa was nominated for an Ambassadorial Scholarship from our club; she is a 1998 graduate from L.D. Bell High School and a 2002 graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. She has spent the last 8 years working as a marketing and communications consultant for non-profit organizations in Washington, DC. She and her husband, Jeremy, look forward to representing our club and our district in Mexico this year. She will return to our club again before and after her scholarship year to share more details and stories with us.
