2010-11 Ambassadorial Scholar Vanessa Bilanceri, nominated by our club, recently spent two months living and studying Spanish in Buenos Aires, Argentina with her husband, Jeremy Goldberg. During their stay, Vanessa reached out to the Rotary Club of Haedo (located one hour outside of the city center in the Province of Buenos Aires). She was greeted warmly by the incoming president, Mr. Mario Medvescek. The couple attended a meeting at the local Tennis Club, which began at 9:30pm and ended at midnight. On this particular evening, the all-male club of about 20 members invited their wives, who sat separately on the other side of the U-shaped table. Vanessa was honored to be seated with the Club President at the head table with the Argentine Republic and Rotary flags raised high. Pictured is Vanessa with Club President, Mr. Jorge Raul Lemos, the dean of the business school at the University of Moron. Vanessa and Jorge proudly exchanged the Hurst-Euless-Bedford club flag for the Haedo Club flag.
